So, uh?
Do you guys dust your baseboards regularly? I know it seems kind of gross, but it never seems to occur to me to do it when I'm cleaning and the very idea of scrubbing our entire apartment at ankle level makes me sleepy. I've been trying to do a room here and there, but how often do normal people clean their baseboard moldings?
I must know so I have an idea of just how inadequate I should feel.

I just caught a glimpse of ours in our bedroom the other night and was disgusted, yet went to bed and forgot about it til now.
So, yeah, I don't do it often. at all.
I just spent yesterday morning cleaning our baseboard heaters (we have hot water heat).
A gross task, but the house feels cleaner. At least in my mind.
hrm. I like being ridiculous with cleaning, so I actually do it pretty often - several times a year. but maybe twice would be an appropriate answer?
yeah... no. practically never. i try not to look down there much... (eww! thanks for bringing to my attention how gross i am!)
I hate dealing with it too...maybe once or twice a year...I use the mop to get the ones in the kitchens and bathrooms if I am already mopping the floors. Bleh.
Ok, you guys are mostly making me feel better. At this point, I want to just paint them and start fresh. But before I paint them, I'll have to clean them....
yikes. I am actually scared to admit the last time mine were cleaned. you can no longer count the number of years it has been, on one hand. that's bad, isn't it?
hmmmm...I think I will clean mine this week. lol
I vacuum them about once a week, sometimes a little longer and wipe any dirt from the dogs that gets on them when I see it. Call me crazy.
I also hit the tops of the door jambs...I'm not completely anal retentive but it's two things I do because I can't stand to see dust on them.
When I paint for my clients, I have to clean their baseboards first...apparently they don't like to clean them either! LOL
I painted ours recently-ish, so now I just have to sweep them to knock the dust off. Clean baseboards make everything look so much shinier.
Once a year and that's too much!
