I just stumbled onto A Chicago Sojourn, a great site that for exploring hidden city gems. 
It includes a fantastic round-up of midecentury modern architectural elements from around the city and suburbs.
You've got your tile.
Your glass block.
Your rad garage doors.
Even cool escutcheons.
So many great photographs. It's all that stuff you see as you're driving by in a car or riding the train but never think to capture. You can find me over here all day.
