Exposition!
Maybe you've seen this, but since I love it more than Paul loves chicken tetrazzini and I love you even more still, I give you Catalog Living, a site that calls out catalog shots for their sometimes utterly nonsensical staging.
Here's just a mini taste:
"Gary and I have slept in separate beds for years, but last night he left me a tied-up stack of books on my foot-of-bed-bench. I think he’s in the mood."
"Elaine should have known better than to interrupt Gary during 'apple time.'"
Oh, Gary and Elaine. You may be my favorite couple since Alycia and Paul were split up by Dominique and her seductive chicken tetrazzini.
I may be a little bit obsessed with this site because we live right down the block from the building where Crate and Barrel and CB2 do their catalog shoots. I'm always poring over the latest catalogs to see if they include any window shots.
Like this one! Hey, that's my train stop! It kind of ruins the yuppie illusion when you know that right outside that window, there's a hooker just waiting to proposition Marc while he's out on a run and our street has potholes that could swallow a Honda Civic in one gulp.
But yeah, Catalog Living. It's funny! Funnier than this post, that's for damn sure.

damnit, i've seriously been thinking about becoming a photo stylist, and now i'm afraid i'm going to style dumb shit like that. crapcrapcrap.
but it is hilarious!
It's harder than it seems, right? Visual merchandising is fun, but it gives me anxiety that only seems fitting for a rocket launch or something.
