Why is it that...

...I have an obnoxious, obsessive need to point out when anyone on TV or in a movie (Jason Bateman! John Stewart! Uh, Ned Flanders?) is left handed?

But I can't make a L or R turn anywhere without flashing quick thumb-forefinger "L" vs. "not L" hands and glancing down at my waist to check which way I need to go.

I'm a spatially-retarded, overzealous lefty.
