Let's talk shop

When we first started dating, Marc and I used to take lots of walks on sunny Sunday afternoons, usually down Western. Why, I have no idea. It's not a very pretty street, but the walks usually ended with me picking up some "treasure" from Stop! Look!

This Sunday, we switched things up with a hop-skip-jump trip from Ashland to Western (Margie's Candies, what up?) to Damen. I thought the day was pretty great after I was filled to the gills with ice cream and caramel, but that was only until we ducked into newly opened Agent Gallery Chicago just south of Augusta.

Holy awesome stuff!

Also? Pretty attainable prices.

And? Owner Mariano Chavez is very friendly. I had a great time briefly talking to him and hearing about his experiences so far with the shop (he's had an online store for quite some time and is now making the leap to brick and mortar).

The shop is small, so his collection of wonderful oddities is constantly revolving. Seems like a great reason to move our weekly walks a few blocks east.

Now if this lovely weather can just hold out...

P.S. Don't forget! Today is the last day to enter to win Nutty the Squirrel.

Oh wow -- never heard of it! I have made a mental note to check it out. Kudos to Mariano for making the leap to brick and mortar.
