Note to self:

I like this for two reasons.

1. Wall color. Our fireplace is painted similarly, and I think I'd like to do another wall and the front door in this color.

2. Framed maps. This is what I was trying to explain here. The highway maps I have are about the same dimensions as those beauts on the left.

Whip it. Into shape.

I hate messy knots of dangling cords as much as the next person.

So this installation from Maisie Maud Broadhead makes me so happy in my heart.

Curtain call

(I have no idea where this picture is from, but if someone does, please please tell me. I need to see more.)

I have these curtains in my bedroom. They're from Ikea and I love them. My bedroom looks nowhere near as nice as this.

See?

But I think we have the exact same color on the walls. Arrgh! Twinsies on the silhouettes even!

I think that because the pattern is so bold (at least for me), I've become intimidated and have tried to keep our room mellow and all earth-toned out, but I'm really jealous of the teal and mustard in this picture.

Tell me how I should make the magic happen in the bedroom!

Quinks (especially quick links)

Yep, still running around like a chicken without a head over here. Here are some evil things that are stealing some of the time I can't seem to find:

- One (goooooorgeous) home styled for three different shoots.

- You say faux fireplace. I say barf. Except when it comes to this one. Here's how to do it.

- Would this be a cute wedding gift? Or should it be added to the barf pile?

- Vanity Fair's Hitchcock shots compared to the originals.

- All sorts of retro hair video tutorials.

- Make your own Astrid sweater. Then make me one. And send it to me.

- Murder me Rachel. Everything from New House Textiles is retro-dorable.

Ok, I have to go study for a quiz now.

That's definitely one for the barf bucket.

I want your Skittles wardrobe

Sorry, I've been so busy this week. This is going to be kind of a bullshit post.

Ok, so you know how everybody wants to dress like Joan Holloway these days? Yeah, she's foxy for sure. No disrespect(/kanye), but I think there's another fab TV land redhead that's flying under the radar. Has anyone else checked out the wardrobe of Glee's Jayma Mays?

They've got the adorable retro secretary thing DOWN with her.

And I love that she's constantly wearing an INSANE rainbow of colors that somehow look super flattering.

But when she's tricked out in the lovely purple/royal blues her character seems to favor?

Transcendent! Makes me want to dye my hair red and develop a crippling case of OCD. (Please urge me to step away from the Feria. It would be very bad.)

A sweater chain? Kill me now.

Sorry. I couldn't find many full-length shots, but that's sure to change after everyone reads this groundbreaking post on my super-important weblog.

Seriously, I would take every stitch of clothing she's been in this season.

Go on, Emma Pillsbury. You keep rocking those cardigans and Peter Pan collars like no one else can!

I could do this, right?

What an awesome idea for a hanging planter (that doesn't involve macrame, SHANNON)!

Maybe this could alleviate some of the window crowding that's happening in my living room this very moment.
